For the past two summers, an interdisciplinary team at Montana State University has hosted 23 elementary teachers from rural / reservation communities in an immersive six-week research experience to collaboratively develop culturally responsive and sustaining engineering education within their classrooms. This presentation will discuss the project framework, unique workshops, research experiences and impacts on participants.
Speakers for this webinar are Paul Gannon, Abbie Richards, Becky Hammack, Nick Lux, Sweeney Windchief, Suzi Taylor, Doug Hacker, and Hilary Lozar. These speakers represent Montana State University, Purdue University, the University of Utah, and the Ronan school district and Boys and Girls Club of Mission Valley, Montana.
